Childhood obesity is a significant and growing health concern that has reached epidemic proportions. It is estimated that 16 percent of U.S. children aged six to nineteen are overweight and these rates are even higher in California and San Diego County. Read More

Community Impact
Kids in the Kitchen, the Association of Junior League's international initiative addresses childhood obesity and poor nutrition. KITK gets children and parents excited about leading a healthy lifestyle with hands-on activities. JLSD partners with Olivewood Gardens to offer free events to the public.
