Provisional Training Course Overview

Junior League of San Diego’s nine-month Provisional Training Course provides an introduction to our League focus areas, including our structure and culture, local community/outreach projects, and philanthropic initiatives.

The curriculum combines monthly leadership workshops, experiential training in philanthropic event planning, as well as a number of volunteer, social, and networking opportunities with like-minded women in San Diego County.

Our Provisional Training Courses begin with an Orientation in August and through May of the following year.

Provisional Members who have completed all course requirements are invited to become Active Members of the Junior League of San Diego at the start of the League Year in July.

Provisional training meetings are held each month, either at the Junior League of San Diego House, at 210 Maple Street, or at an offsite community facility or venue.  Some meetings are held in smaller groups in neighborhoods convenient to each team and led by Provisional Mentors, who are Active Members of the League.

Financial

Membership Dues – $210

Provisional Training Course Fee – $120

NOTE: Dues and the Provisional Training Couse Fee must be paid online upon notification that your application has been approved.  Your application will not be complete and our space in the Provisional class will not be reserved until payment has been received.

Cancellation Policy – In the event that you are unable to complete the Provisional course in the year that you apply for membership into the League, you must notify the Vice President of Membership no later than September 1st in order to receve a partial refund of the $120 Provisional Course Training Fee.  You will also have the option of re-enrolling as a new Provisional for the following year and applying the $120 toward the following year.  Membership Dues are non-refundable.

Community: Participate in organizing a Done-in-a-Day Project benefitting one of JLSD’s Community Partners

Fund Development: Participating in planning and executing a fundraising event

Training: Participate in a Capstone Project to present project outcomes/successes/lessons learned

Volunteer Requirements

Community: Participate in one Impact Shift or Training Opportunity

Fund Development: Complete a volunteer shift at JLSD’s signature fundraiser, Food & Wine: A Kentucky Derby Affair

Fund Development Requirements

Secure 1 auction item for a JLSD fund development event, minimum $50 value
