Caroline Wohl: Embracing Tradition, Driving Impact

Provisional Member

How did your upbringing shape your values, and where did you grow up?

As a fifth-generation San Diegan, family is important to me, and I’m grateful to have grown up with most of my direct family in southern California. Growing up in San Diego, I was fortunate to be exposed to diverse communities and experiences, which shaped who I am today.

What inspired you to become a Provisional Member in JLSD?

I wanted to be part of a community of like-minded women with similar values, driven by the goal of making a difference in our San Diego community while empowering each other.

My mother, Caroline Rentto Wohl, and grandmother, Carolyn Sedlock Rentto are Sustainers in the Junior League of San Diego (My first JLSD memory is on the steps of the Junior League house, as a child when I helped my mom fill backpacks with school supplies to be donated to students in need.) After hearing about the impact of their volunteering experiences, professional development opportunities, and making friends (whom they still cherish today!) through JLSD, I knew JLSD was the place for me.

How do you leverage your professional skills and expertise in your role within the League?

As a PR and marketing communications professional, I’m excited to bring my love for writing, branding and storytelling to the League. I’m excited to amplify the stories of our League members and share how JLSD has impacted communities since 1929.

Which committees or activities have you found most engaging as a Provisional or New Member?

I have loved meeting new people and collaborating with different teams as part of the Communications Council! IMPACT shifts are fantastic opportunities to volunteer in the community with other Provisionals and meet Active members. I continue to learn from and be inspired by the kind, intelligent women who make up the League, and I’m so proud to be part of JLSD.
