LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR A SHORT-TERM PROJECT?
"Done in a Day" (DIAD) projects are a way for the Junior League of San Diego and its members to partner with organizations to help make a difference in the community in just a few short hours. While the projects may be short-term, the impact is long-term. The Impact! Committee researches and develops proposals for DIAD projects. Project requests will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the JLSD fiscal year (June, 2008 - May, 2009).
To be considered for a DIAD project, please submit a one-page concept letter with the information requested below. When possible, please submit your request 8 weeks before your event in order to give the committee ample time to review, approve and publicize the project to JLSD members.
Concept letters should include the following information:
- Name of the organization, project coordinator, and contact information
- Mission statement of the organization
- Time, date and location of the project
- Scope of the project, including all items the JLSD will be responsible for donating to the project and any other financial obligations
- Total number of volunteers requested and total number of volunteer hours
- If the project is open to family and/or friends of JLSD members (children; age restrictions; any other restrictions).
In addition, please include a copy of your IRS determination letter.
Please note: Projects that require fundraising activities (for example, selling raffle
tickets or obtaining silent auction items) are not eligible.
Please email your concept letter to Impact.
