September is a month to find the good and take action to create more of it! 

Each September, Junior Leagues around the world celebrate Find the Good Day, an initiative of The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) dedicated to finding the good in ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. Celebrated on the third Thursday of September, Find the Good Day is an opportunity to embrace kindness, optimism, and positive change while shining a light on the impact we can make when we work together.

This year, Junior League of San Diego (JLSD) is proud to participate as a chapter, and we’re inviting our members and the entire San Diego community to join us.

Our primary Find the Good Day initiative is a Donation Drive supporting JLSD’s Period Pantry and Diaper Bank.

Throughout September, we’re collecting:

• Diapers
• Menstrual products
• Baby wipes
• Toothpaste
• Deodorant
• Toothbrushes

Our goal is to collect 1,000 diapers and 1,000 period products!

These everyday essentials can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. By helping us restock these programs, you can turn a simple donation into a tangible act of support for our San Diego community.

The donation drive runs September 1–30, so there’s plenty of time to find the good and give back.

Kendra Scott Gives Back

Join us for a special Kendra Gives Back event supporting Junior League of San Diego! On Saturday, September 19 from 12–2 p.m., 20% of purchases at the Kendra Scott location at UTC will be donated back to JLSD.

Find the Good Day Proclamation

On September 17, JLSD will receive a proclamation from the Mayor of San Diego recognizing Find the Good Day and the positive impact of Junior League volunteers in our community.

Find the Good, Wherever You Are

You don’t have to be a Junior League member to participate in Find the Good Day. AJLI encourages everyone to use the day as an opportunity to focus on the positive, uplift others, and take action in their communities. That could mean donating essential supplies, volunteering, helping a neighbor, supporting a local organization, or simply doing something kind for someone else.

For Junior League members, Find the Good Day is also a reminder of what makes our organization special: women coming together to serve their communities, develop their leadership skills, build connections, and create meaningful change. The Junior League provides members with opportunities for training, mentorship, volunteer service, and leadership development—all while working alongside others who are committed to making a difference.

This September, we invite you to find the good and help us create more of it.
