Junior League is a national nonprofit organization that promotes women’s leadership and community volunteerism. The Junior League of San Diego is currently transitioning its focus area of Transition Age Youth (foster children aging out of the foster care system at 18 years of age in San Diego) to one of the following focus areas: Food Insecurity or Maternal Health and Wellness.
The Covid pandemic has impacted the San Diego community in unforeseen ways such as the increased need for child care which inhibits the ability to work and can contribute to a family’s difficult choice to feed their family, buy diapers or purchase feminine products.
Since July of 2021, the JLSD Diaper Bank has been able to donate over 20,000 diapers and over 3,000 feminine products to the following community partners: Alliance for Africa, Monarch School, Rady Children’s Hospital, Jewish Family Services, YMCA Youth and Family Services Transitional Housing Program, Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, Casa de Amparo, and San Diego Youth Services.
We would love to partner with you in support of the JLSD diaper bank and lady locker to help us reach our goals of providing feminine products to 2022 women in the year 2022 and donating 22,000 diapers.
If you would like to make a corporate donation to the JLSD Diaper Bank or Lady Locker, please contact our Community Action Committee Chair [Elle Norris] at firstname.lastname@example.org.
