The Junior League San Diego strives to make an immediate impact on the community through short, intensive projects that are completed in a single day or a single weekend.
Each year, JLSD invests thousands of volunteer hours in our community projects and in support of local agencies, non-profits, and programs throughout San Diego County. During the 2015-2016 League year, our members volunteered 2,449 hours to improve our local community and donated $5,836 in material goods to support the needs of our various community partners.
The Junior League of San Diego helps dozens of organizations through volunteer opportunities organized by our Impact Committee. Impact shifts are “done in a day” events that serve as a single day, high-impact volunteer opportunity for JLSD members in a variety of areas. Current and past Impact shifts include working with community partners such as TAY Academy, Promises2Kids, Just in Time for Foster Youth, STARS, Girl Scouts, Walden Family Services, ARTS, the Ronald McDonald House and many, many others. Local community organizations are encouraged to contact JLSD with suggestions for Impact shifts or requests for volunteer support.
